Home Services / POLYURETHANE GROUT - OUTDOOR

Polyurethane grout is an excellent choice for outdoor areas such as balconies, rooftops, and patios due to its superior durability and weather resistance. Unlike traditional grouting materials, polyurethane grout offers the highest level of QUV resistance, ensuring that it remains UV proof and does not yellow over time.

This advanced formula was initially developed for protective coatings, such as spray-down truck bed liners and tank coatings, making it an incredibly robust option for tile grouting. It is composed of polyurea resin and an isocyanate hardener, forming a semi-fluid liquid that is conveniently packed into a two-component plastic cartridge.

Easily applied with an automatic caulking gun, polyurethane grout is 100% solid content, zero VOC, and made from non-toxic materials. It cures effectively even in extreme temperatures as low as -25℃, ensuring long-lasting performance in various outdoor conditions.

Why Choose Polyurethane Grouting for Sheltered Outdoor Use?

1. UV-Proof & Non-Yellowing

Outdoor surfaces are exposed to sunlight, which can cause discolouration over time. Polyurethane grout is specially formulated to be UV resistant, preventing yellowing and degradation from prolonged sun exposure.

2. Highly Durable & Weather-Resistant

Unlike cement-based grouts, polyurethane grout withstands extreme weather conditions, including rain, humidity, and temperature fluctuations, ensuring a long-lasting, pristine appearance.

3. Flexible & Crack-Resistant

Tiles naturally expand and contract due to temperature changes. The flexibility of polyurethane grout prevents cracks and structural damage, maintaining the integrity of tiled surfaces.

4. Easy to Maintain & Clean

The non-porous surface prevents dirt, grime, and mould from accumulating, making polyurethane grout easy to clean with just water and a simple wipe-down.

Common Uses of Polyurethane Grouting

1. Sheltered Balconies & Rooftops

Protects against harsh weather conditions and UV exposure while maintaining an attractive finish.

2. Outdoor Patios & Walkways

Enhances durability and prevents cracking due to frequent foot traffic and environmental factors. Its flexible nature allows it to adapt to minor shifts in the substrate, reducing the likelihood of grout fractures.

3. Commercial Spaces

Ideal for hotels, restaurants, and public spaces requiring long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing grout solutions.

Benefits of Polyurethane Grouting

1. Waterproof & Mould-Resistant

Unlike traditional grouts that absorb water, polyurethane grout forms a waterproof barrier, reducing the risk of mould and mildew growth.

2. Long Lifespan

Due to its durable nature, polyurethane grout lasts longer than standard grout, making it a cost-effective solution over time.

3. Eco-Friendly & Safe

With zero VOC content, polyurethane grout is an environmentally friendly option that is safe for both residential and commercial use.

4. Versatile Colour Customisation

Available in a wide range of colours, including glow-in-the-dark options, polyurethane grout allows for seamless integration with any design aesthetic.

Process of Polyurethane Grouting

1. Surface Preparation

The area is thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, dust, and old grout residue, ensuring proper adhesion of the new grout.

2. Application of Polyurethane Grout

The grout mixture is injected into the tile joints using a precision caulking gun, allowing for even distribution and seamless coverage.

3. Smoothing & Finishing

Once applied, excess grout is smoothed out to create a uniform surface, enhancing both durability and aesthetics.

4. Curing & Final Inspection

The grout is left to cure, forming a durable, waterproof barrier. A final quality check ensures all grout lines are properly filled and the surface is flawless.

By choosing polyurethane grout, you are investing in a long-lasting, high-performance solution that ensures the beauty and durability of your outdoor tiled surfaces.
